About
Builder, leader, framework thinker. I help organizations grow without losing what made them good.
The Short Version
I'm CEO of Saturday Drive, a portfolio of software and service businesses including Ninja Forms, SendWP, and several other ventures. I've spent 25 years building companies, developing leaders, and learning — often the hard way — what makes organizations thrive.
I partner with Kevin Stover (COO) and Jeremy Moore (CFO). Together we've built a team with 10+ year average tenure and a culture that lets us pursue interesting work without sacrificing the things that matter.
Systems over hustle.
The Longer Story
I started my first company before I knew what I was doing. That's probably the only way to do it — the illusion of competence gives you permission to try. What followed was 25 years of building, failing, learning, and eventually succeeding in ways I hadn't imagined.
Along the way, I became obsessed with a question: How do you build organizations where people actually want to work? Not through perks or policies, but through fundamental design. The structures, rhythms, and expectations that shape daily experience.
That question led me to develop frameworks — mental models for thinking about leadership, prioritization, and personal growth. Not because I wanted to teach, but because I needed tools for my own thinking. When others found them useful, I started sharing more widely.
What I've Learned
The best leaders build systems, not dependencies. They create environments where people can do their best work — then get out of the way. They understand that clarity beats complexity, that warmth and excellence aren't opposites, and that the point of optimization isn't efficiency for its own sake but creating space for what matters.
I've also learned that the work is never done. The frameworks evolve, the business changes, and the learning continues. That's the part I still love.
The Spheres Framework
I organize my life around five concentric spheres — from innermost (most control) to outermost (least control).
Me — personal growth, health, inner thoughts
Family — key relationships
Business — work, career, ventures
Community — local involvement
World — politics, global events
The principle: Focus energy where you have leverage. Accept where you don't. This isn't about ignoring the outer spheres — it's about not letting them consume the energy you need for the inner ones.
Current Focus
Right now I'm focused on three things:
Saturday Drive's next chapter. We're in a period of strategic refocus — getting clear on what we do best and building the team and systems to do it even better.
AI integration done right. I'm deeply interested in how AI can amplify human judgment rather than replace it. Not the hype — the practical application in real organizations.
Helping other leaders. Through advisory work, coaching, and speaking, I share what I've learned with others navigating similar challenges.
Let's connect.
Whether you're thinking through a challenge, exploring a partnership, or just want to say hello — I'd enjoy hearing from you.
